Best Time of Year at Millcreek Inn

Late May and June: Everything is green, the creek is full and evenings are cool. Bring a wrap.

In June, sunset in Salt Lake is after 9 p.m., but direct light in the canyon fades much earlier. Drone Notes
Millcreek Inn doesn't publish a drone policy, so we ask the venue first. The canyon is national forest land, and parts of it border designated wilderness, where drones can't take off or land. The valley below sits under Salt Lake City International's Class B airspace. As an FAA Part 107 certified pilot, I check the FAA airspace map for your exact site and file LAANC authorization when it's required. We never fly over seated guests. If a drone isn't allowed or isn't safe that day, we skip it and focus on the ground.
Guest Logistics
Parking and the Canyon Fee
Millcreek Canyon charges $5 per vehicle ($3 for seniors) on the way out, and the tollbooth doesn't take cash. movingutah Millcreek Inn gives toll validations so your guests leave without paying, austendiamondphotography but tell them ahead of time so nobody panics at the booth.
Parking numbers vary by source, anywhere from about 90 to 150 spaces counting on site and across the street. Ask your coordinator how many cars to plan for. For bigger guest counts, carpooling or a shuttle from a valley hotel is a smart move.
Road Construction in 2026
The Upper Mill Creek Canyon Road Improvement Project closed the upper canyon road to everyone starting at the Terraces picnic area on March 15, 2026. Salt Lake County expects completion before winter recreation resumes in late 2026. saltlakecounty Millcreek Inn is below that point and has kept hosting events. If your date is in late fall 2026, confirm access with the venue.
Lodging
There's no lodging on site. Accessibility
